Notation and Terminology for the Job Market

This document defines terms and notation used in the other job market documents.

Item Explanation



Moniker - Your Moniker, used for naming CV, Abstract, etc.
It MUST be FamilynameFirstinitialMiddleinitial
e.g., for Christopher D. Carroll it would be CarrollCD
(We insist on the middle initial because some previous student may
have had the same last name and first initial that you have)
NO SPACES ALLOWED!
To satisfy both of these rules, for example, Pierangelo De Pace’s moniker
was DePacePA (Angelo is the implicit middle name)
Getting capitalization right is important - don’t be sloppy
JMCC - Job Market Computer Coordinator is the
person responsible for nitty-gritty computer tasks
JHUEconJMCC@gmail.com
JMStaff - The person in the JHUEcon department office
responsible for handling recommendations and other
administrative matters (Lunathis year)

JMPO - The Job Market Placement Officer is the faculty member
coordinating the overall placement process
